Templeton, Coast Union earn playoff seeds in girls volleyball
The Templeton and Coast Union high volleyball teams were each seeded third in their respective divisions of the CIF-Southern Section playoffs, which was announced Friday.
Templeton (24-7), the Los Padres League champion, opens the Division 3A playoffs with a home game Tuesday against Western Christian (10-10), an at-large team from the Ambassasdor League.
Coast Union (13-3), the Coast Valley League champion, received a bye in the Division 5AA playoffs and will host the winner of AGBU and Calvary Murrieta on Thursday.
In Division 2AA, PAC 8 champion San Luis Obispo and PAC 8 co-champion Arroyo Grande each earned home games in the first round. The Tigers are a No. 1 see and will (22-8) host Camarillo (9-17) by virtue of a tie breaker determined before the season started, while the Eagles (18-2) host Moorpark (12-15).
Also, Mission Prep (22-6) travels to Royal (17-10), the Coastal Canyon League champ, and Paso Robles (14-12) will play at South Pasadena (20-3), the Rio Hondo League champion.
In addition to Templeton in Division 3A, Morro Bay and Nipomo earned playoff bids. The Titans (13-10-2) will travel to Wilson (14-6), while the Pirates (10-8) head to San Gabriel (25-4-1), the Almont League champion.
Joining Coast Union in the 5AA playoffs is Coastal Christian (11-9), which travels to Oakwood (8-13) for a first-round game.
