SLO High’s Callum Bolger, A.G.’s Leza Cassidy win PAC 8 cross country titles
San Luis Obispo High’s Callum Bolger did what he has done all year, winning the PAC 8 boys cross country meet at the 5K Fairbanks course at Cuesta College on Thursday in a time of 15 minutes, 25 seconds.
Christian Ricketts from Arroyo Grande was second in 15:52, and Paso Robles placed the next four runners — Gannon Chamberlain (15:58), Luis Armendariz (16:01), Trad Berti (16:13) and Joshua Potter (16:18).
The Paso Robles boys took the title with a score of 30, followed by Arroyo Grande at 52. San Luis Obispo was third (81).
In the girls race, Arroyo Grande’s Leza Cassidy won in a time of 18:18, trailed by Paso Robles’ Ashley Davis at 18:28. Malia Simon of Arroyo Grande was third (18:39), Paso Robles’ Annie Meeder was fourth (19:26) and Atascadero’s Brittni Frace was fifth (19:37).
The Arroyo Grande girls won with a score of 28, Atascadero was second (57) and Paso Robles was third (59). San Luis Obispo was fourth (70).
The top four teams automatically advance to the CIF-Southern Section prelims. No runners from outside the top four teams finished in the top six to win a spot at the CIF prelims.
