Coast Union High football team falls at home with playoff berth on the line
The Coast Union High football team came into Friday night’s game against Cuyama Valley in Cambria with a chance to win the Coast Valley League title.
Both the Broncos and the Bears had 3-0 league records, and the winner would get the league’s playoff berth.
Coast Union fell behind 40-8 at halftime, then rallied but ended up losing 64-42.
Alam Ramirez had 285 yards rushing, including a 40-yard touchdown for the Broncos (3-6, 3-1 CVL). Jack MacKinnon threw for 66 yards and two touchdowns. Alexis Mireles had both touchdown receptions, one for 21 yards and the other for 27 yards.
Lane Sutherland ran for two touchdowns, and MacKinnon ran for a score as well.
