Prep volleyball roundup: San Luis Obispo sweeps Atascadero to keep PAC 8 title hopes alive

The San Luis Obispo High volleyballl team swept Atascadero 25-19, 25-20, 25-16 on Tuesday.

Taylor Degnan had nine kills and Jessie Featherstone had four kills and three aces for the Greyhounds. Brooke Harbottle posted 14 assists for Atascadero (14-4, 5-7 PAC 8).

Arroyo Grande 3, Pioneer Valley 0

The Eagles won 25-7, 25-5, 25-12, behind Ashlyn Herlihy’s 11 kills and three blocks. Emily Sonny added eight kills and three blocks and Arroyo Grande (16-3, 11-1 PAC 8) had 18 aces as team — nine coming from Juju Fuller.

Mission Prep 3, Paso Robles 1

The Royals overcame a slow start, winning 20-25, 25-17, 25-19, 25-19. Jennifer Laird had 18 kills, 13 digs and five aces and Maddie Boncich added 12 kills and two aces for the Royals. Eleri Perryman registered 22 assists for Mission Prep (21-5, 9-3 PAC 8), who go on the road to face Righetti on Thursday.

Chloe Kerns had three aces and nine digs and Hannah Katches had six kills and three blocks for the Bearcats. Kiara Gable added 10 kills and pair of aces for Paso Robles (14-13, 5-7 PAC 8).

Templeton 3, Nipomo 0

Templeton survived two close sets to defeat Nipomo, 25-12, 25-20, 25-20.

Emily Burns led the Eagles with 12 kills and Lauren Ralston added eight more. Hannah McRoy had 23 assists and five aces.

Templeton is now 12-0 in Los Padres League play and 22-7 overall. The team will travel to Lompoc to take on Cabrillo on Thursday.
