Arroyo Grande girls golf wins PAC 8 league final

The Arroyo Grande High School girls golf team defeated six other schools Wednesday at Rancho Maria Golf Club in Santa Maria to win the PAC 8 league final tournament by six strokes.

Arroyo Grande’s Vanessa Watkins shot the low round of the tournament with a 3-over-par 76 on the 18-hole course.

San Luis Obispo finished in second place with a score of 467. Righetti (509) finished in third place, followed by Paso Robles (511), Atascadero (522), St. Joseph (568) and Pioneer Valley (617).

Arroyo Grande’s Kinsey McBryde shot a hole-in-one on the par 3 6th hole on the way to a 5-over-par 78 and a second-place finish. Righetti’s Sarah Fouratt finished in third place with a 79 and ended the season in first place overall in the league.

Watkins, McBryde, Fouratt and Arroyo Grande’s Dalanie Dunkle all qualified for the CIF tournament.
