Original story: The second week of the CIF-Central Section playoffs saw some hard-fought losses for San Luis Obispo County teams, but even though the season ended for most county teams, there were still plenty of standout performances, including from multiple seniors.

We’ve got 10 nominees to choose from this week.

In last week’s poll, Mission Prep’s Jack Susank led all candidates with 52% of the tally, or 711 votes.

Mission Prep’s Drew Harrigan recorded 17% (230 votes) and Arroyo Grande’s Kaden Tynes took in 15% (209 votes).

The weekly poll closes at 2 p.m. Friday, so get your votes in.

Also, fans have until Nov. 19 to cast votes on the best student section in SLO County. The fan section contest is turning into a neck-and-neck showdown between Mission Prep and Arroyo Grande. The Royals and Eagles both carried 44% of the tally as of Monday, each closing in on 17,000 votes.

Also ending on Friday is our poll on who has the best high school band in SLO County. As of Monday afternoon, San Luis Obispo High School had opened up a sizable lead with 44% of the vote, trailed by Arroyo Grande at 28%.

Only two SLO County teams remain in contention for CIF titles. Good luck to Morro Bay and Coast Union! They play on Friday in the semifinals.
