As a freshman for the Arroyo Grande High School boys basketball team last season, Gage Gomez showed he light it up when he hit his first six 3-point shots in a game against Atascadero.

On Thursday night he did it again.

The sophomore hit his first six 3-pointers against Frontier and went on to score 38 points and lead the Eagles to a win. Gomez ended up with nine 3s in the game and scored as many points as the entire Frontier team in a 78-38 Arroyo Grande win.

Arroyo Grande (3-1) hit 11-of-12 from 3-point range in the first half and finished with 14 for the game. The Eagles are one of the best shooting teams in the PAC 8 this season and are expected to compete with SLO High, St. Joseph and Mission Prep for the league title.
