Cuesta softball cruises past Ventura behind pitching of Demi Danell
The Cuesta softball team beat Ventura 6-0 at home Thursday to improve to 17-7 on the season.
The Cougars, who remain a game back in the Western State Conference, scored four runs in the first inning and added two more in the second.
Demi Danell and Rebekah Hernandez combined for the shutout. Danell recorded the win, going six innings and allowing six hits and striking out six.
She was also was 3 for 3 at the plate with an RBI and a run scored. Keana Arnold was 2 for 3 with an RBI, and Sabina Ybarra and Cheyenne Hufstetler each had two hits and combined for three runs scored.
The Cougars play in the Ventura Tournament beginning Saturday.
