Cuesta baseball team loses to Moorpark 7-4

The Cuesta baseball team fell to Moorpark 7-4 to drop into third place in the Western State Conference standings.

Moorpark used a five-run 5th inning to take the lead and knocked Cuesta starter Neil Uskali out of the game.

Moorpark was led by Dalton Duarte, who went three-for-5 with a pair of home runs, three runs and four RBI.

Dustin Miller and Garrett Giovannelli combined for five of Cuesta’s nine hits on the day.

Miller was 3-for-5, with a double, a home run, two runs scored and an RBI. Giovannelli added an RBI and went 2-for-4.

Cuesta travels to face Ventura on Thursday at 2 p.m.
