Cuesta College loses to Santa Barbara in baseball
The Cuesta College baseball team dropped its first Western State Conference game of the season 3-0 to Santa Barbara City College.
Cuesta starting pitcher Brendan Jenkins (3-3) allowed one hit in the first seven innings, a home run to Nicolas Bereaud, before a two-run eighth chased him from the game.
The Vaqueros’ were led by Steven Ledesma, who scattered four hits in a complete-game effort.
Jenkins was handed another loss on the season, despite a 1.34 ERA over a state leading 40.1 innings.
Cuesta plays at Moorpark on Saturday at 1 p.m.
