Cuesta College women’s basketball team ends year on winning note

The Cuesta College women’s basketball team beat Moorpark in 52-48 overtime to close out the season on Saturday.

Autumn Russell led the Cougars with 21 points and 17 rebounds.

The Cougars finish the year 9-19 and 4-8 in the Western State Conference, but played much of the year with six players.

“It was pretty impressive how we stayed with everyone this year,” coach Ron Barba said. “I’m really proud of the kids who finished the year.”
