Cuesta baseball falls to Saddleback
The Cuesta baseball team dropped the second game of a two game series 5-4 to Saddleback on Friday. The Cougars jumped out to a 3-0 lead, but Saddleback (7-0) would tie the score at 4-4. In the bottom of the ninth, Saddleback’s Luke Jarvis doubled home Kyle Candalla for the walk off win, handing Cuesta reliever Anthony Baleto (1-1) his first loss of the year.
Cuesta starting pitcher Louis Raymond pitched six innings, giving up two earned runs on six hits with four strikeouts.
Nick Burnham went 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI and T.K. McWhertor went 2-for-4 with two RBI for the Cougars (4-3).
Cuesta hosts College of the Sequoias on Tuesday.
