Cuesta downs defending state champion Orange Coast in baseball
Cuesta College right-hander Brandan Jenkins, a preseason All-American, tossed a three-hit shutout in the Cougars’ 11-0 win over defending California Community College Athletic Association state champion Orange Coast on Thursday.
Jenkins (2-0), who has a 16-inning scoreless streak, allowed two walks and struck out nine.
The Cougars (2-1) scored a run in the bottom of the first, which was more than enough for Jenkins.
