Cuesta opens baseball season with home win over Riverside
The Cuesta College baseball opened play with a 4-2 win over Riverside on Thursday in San Luis Obispo.
Preseason All-American Brendan Jenkins threw seven scoreless innings for the Cougars, allowing four hits and two walks while striking out four. Morro Bay High alum Dan Beavers earned the save.
Cayce Rocco went 1-for-1 with three runs and two walks, and Jacob George was 3-for-3 with a run and an RBI for Cuesta. San Luis Obispo High grad Garrett Giovanelli was 1-for-4 with a double and two RBI.
The series contines Friday at 1 p.m.
