Cuesta women’s soccer team falls to Pierce

The Cuesta College women’s soccer team hung with the defending Western State Conference champion L.A. Pierce for 82 minutes, but gave up three goals in the final eight minutes in a 4-0 loss Friday.

The Cougars (5-10-3) trailed 1-0 at halftime, and remained in the game as Kat Wilcox and Micaela Lewis combined to make 17 saves. Lewis finished with 12 saves.

Cuesta finishes the year tied for fifth place with Oxnard, while the Brahmas tied for first with Moorpark.

Makayla Nichols had two goals, and Desiree Raygoza had two assists for L.A. Pierce.
