The Cuesta women’s soccer team pulled out a 3-2 win over Oxnard on Tuesday. The win marks Cuesta’s first Western State Conference win of the season. Brynne Guzman opened the scoring for the Cougars, scoring on a pass from Sarah Siems. The Condors evened the scoring six minutes later.
After the half, the Cougars got on the board again, when Gillian Stargensky found the back of the net off a Roisin Andrews pass in the 52nd minute. The Condors would tie it again in the 69th, but Guzman’s second goal of the game in the 72nd minute gave the Cougars (5-7-3, 1-5-1 WSC) the lead for good. Micaela Lewis notched five saves in goal for Cuesta.
