Cuesta basketball roundup: Cuesta men rout Santa Barbara

The Cuesta College men’s basketball team beat Santa Barbara 80-47 Wednesday night.

Rafael Casanova led the Cougars with 24 points and was 4 of 7 from 3-point range. Rafael Eleftheriou had 13 points for the Cougars (18-8, 8-2 Western State Conference Northern Division), who also got 12 points apiece from Benat Hevia and Keshawn Liggins.

Cuesta, tied with L.A. Pierce for first-place in the Northern Division, hosts Oxnard at 5 p.m. Saturday.

Williams, Crosby lead Cougars to win

The Cuesta College women’s basketball team rolled to a 64-33 win over Santa Barbara. Kaylee Williams had 18 points and eight rebounds as the Cougars outscored Santa Barbara 43-18 in the first half.

Jerrica Crosby had 11 points and 13 rebounds, and Ashley Gamber registered 10 points for Cuesta (22-6, 7-2 WSC North).
