Cuesta women's basketball team opens season with win

Ashley Gamber had 17 points and eight rebounds, and the Cuesta College women’s basketball team opened its season by beating Los Medanos, 67-52, in the first round of the Las Positas Tournament in Livermore on Thursday night.

The Cougars jumped out to a 20-0 lead in the first half and maintained their lead as Morro Bay High graduate Jerrica Crosby had 15 points and 15 rebounds, and Anika Roving added 10 points.

Cuesta plays Modesto Junior College today at 5 p.m. in the semifinals.
