Cuesta volleyball edges Hancock

Gabby David had a match-high 20 kills and 16 digs as the Cuesta College volleyball team defeated local rival Allan Hancock 3-2 in a back-and-forth match Wednesday at Cuesta.

Jackie Gocobachi had 15 kills, and Whitney Meyer added 31 assists as the Cougars won 21-25, 25-19, 25-15, 20-25, 15-8.

Faith Sierra and Hayley Anderson teamed up to dish out 36 assists for Cuesta (6-16, 2-8 Western State Conference), as the Cougars split the season series with the Bulldogs and ended their losing streak at eight matches.
