Cuesta women’s water polo rolls to win over L.A. Pierce
Marti-Rae Grois scored three goals to lead an offensive onslaught for the Cuesta College women’s water polo team in a 19-7 road win Wednesday at Pierce.
Sam Baker, Mia Taapken and Danny Fennessy each scored twice for the Cougars (16-4, 3-0 Western State Conference), and 10 other players registered one goal.
Cuesta led 7-1 after one quarter and 11-2 at halftime.
Grois also made seven saves in goal, Shannon Rees had five and Baker made three.
Whitney Alderman scored five goals for Pierce.
