Cuesta College women's water polo team takes fourth at own tournament

Rachel Gruetzmacher ignited the Cuesta College women’s water polo team with two goals in its opening match of the day in a 7-5 win over Orange Coast in Cougars’ 16th-annual Rabobank Invitational on Saturday.

The Cougars went on to beat Long Beach 5-4 and take fourth-place in the tournament. Shanae Lauridsen scored the first three goals against Long Beach, and Emily Crane and Shannon Rees scored in the fourth period to secure the win.

The Cougars (15-4) lost to tournament champion Fullerton on Friday.
