Cuesta College men's water polo team wins two at tournament in Roseville

The Cuesta College men’s water polo team won both of its games at the American River Tournament in Roseville on Saturday.

In the first game, the Cougars beat Sierra 12-7, led by John Hartshorne, who notched six goals. Christian Emerson added four goals and Michael Bull and Trevor Collins each had one. Clint Doucette had eight saves. Cuesta outscored Sierra 5-1 in third quarter to pull away.

In the second game, the Cougars routed Ohlone 20-5 — scoring 11 goals in the fourth quarter. Hartshorne had four more goals, and Emerson tacked on three to add to his total for the day. Noah Hudgins, Kevin Stater and Liam Barry each had a pair of goals. Sal Arrendondo posted 12 saves in the victory.

Cuesta (8-3) has two games Sunday, one against Merced and the other against the Alumni Water Polo Club.
