Cuesta women's soccer beats Monterey Peninsula 4-0
The Cuesta women’s soccer team beat Monterey Peninsula 4-0 in its final pre-conference test Tuesday. The Cougars opened the scoring in the 22nd minute on a Roisin Andrews goal assisted by Seneca Adams. In the 28th minute, Adams added a goal of her own, and in the 37th minute, Sarah Siems scored on a penalty kick.
With five minutes to go in the second half, Kat Wilcox scored off a Meredith Bowen pass to make the score 4-0.
Micaela Lewis and Emily Johnson combined for four saves and the shutout in goal for the Cougars.
The past three games have been shutouts for Cuesta, who improve to 4-2-2 on the season.
Cuesta begins Western State Conference play next week against Moorpark.
