Cuesta men's water polo team goes 2-0 at tournament

The Cuesta College men’s water polo team cruised to two victories at the West Valley Tournament on Friday, winning 19-6 over Modesto and 17-5 over De Anza.

Against Modesto, Michael Bull had four goals, and John Hartshorne and Christian Emerson had three goals apiece for Cuesta.

Trevor Cones and Gabe DeSimone each had a pair of goals for the Cougars (2-0).

Sal Arredondo had eight saves.

Against De Anza, Emerson had four goals, and DeSimone added another two. Nick Linggold, Dylan Linnenkamp and Trevor Collins all had two goals apiece.

Doucette had nine saves, and Arredondo had four.

DeSimone led the Cougars with eight steals and five assists on the day.

Cuesta will face Riverside at 10:30 a.m. Saturday and will play West Valley later in the day.
