College roundup: Cal Poly men’s tennis team downs UNLV, Cal Poly men’s golf team in first
The Cal Poly men’s tennis team won its third match in as many days, defeating UNLV 5-2 on Monday at Mustang Courts.
The Mustangs (12-8, 3-0 Big West Conference) had won the previous two matches on the road — at Riverside and Irvine.
“It was a solid match for us today, especially given the travel demands of the past few days,” Cal Poly head coach Nick Carless said in a news release.
Ben Donovan and Corey Pang teamed up to beat Jakob Amilon and Ruben Alberts to seal the doubles point for Cal Poly. Garrett Auproux and Tim Tan also won a doubles match.
Pang, Donovan, Axel Damiens and Sreyas Kolachalam each won singles matches for Cal Poly.
“With the consistency of the bottom of our lineup improving, our team is getting tougher and tougher to beat,” Carless said in the release.
