Cal Poly men’s golf team in fifth place in Palm Desert tournament
The Cal Poly men’s golf team was in fifth place after the first round of the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate on Friday at The Classic Club in Palm Desert.
Jessie Yap shot a even-par 72 and was in 12th place, while Justin De Los Santos carded a 1-over 73 for 19th place for Cal Poly.
Sarosh Adi of TCU was the top individual after posting a 67. TCU’s Chelso Barrett, Gonzaga’s Sean Walsh and Denver’s Petter Mikalsen were tied for second at 68.
The Mustangs had a four-person score of 295. Kansas was in first with 285, TCU was second at 288 and Colorado was third at 289.
The second round is scheduled for Saturday.
