Cal Poly swim team competes at Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Championships
The Cal Poly swimming team kicked off the four-day Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Championships held at East Los Angeles College in Monterey Park on Wednesday.
The Mustangs competed in four events: the men’s and women’s 200-yard medley, and the men’s and woman’s 800 medley relay.
In the 200 medley relay, the Mustangs took sixth overall. UC Santa Barbara won the event in 1 minute, 40.55 seconds. The team of Dani Orlandi, Sage Speak, Caitlin Cox and Emily Imfield finished in 1:45.03.
In the men’s 200 medley, Cal Poly was fifth, with the team of Caleb Davies, Jack Jenner, Archie Mitchell and Zack Allen recording a time of 1:30.89.
In the 800 free relay, the men’s team was fourth at 6:30.44. Jenner, Nolan Newland, Pearu Pold and Dominic Dalpaiz teamed up for the Mustangs.
The event continues on Thursday with 10 events scheduled, beginning at 10 a.m.
