Cal Poly women’s golf team in fourth place at Simi Valley tournament
The Cal Poly women’s golf team was in fourth place after the opening round of the Matador Golf Invitational on Monday in Simi Valley.
Madison Hirsch was tied for third after a 6-over 78, and Sophie Bergland was tied for 13th at 9-over 81.
The second round was suspended due to darkness with each player having three or four holes to complete. Play was slowed by high winds.
Santa Clara’s Kristen Le was the top individual, carding a 76.
The Mustangs had a four-player total of 330. Santa Clara was first with 319, followed by Hawaii (324) and Morehead State (329).
Play resumes Tuesday.
