Cal Poly wrestling team falls to Northern Colorado

The Cal Poly wrestling team lost its fifth straight meet, losing to Northern Colorado 22-19 on Friday in Greeley, Colo.

The Mustangs had a 15-8 lead after winning three of the first five bouts, including falls by Colton Schilling (141 pounds)and Colt Shorts (157).

However, the Bears came back to force a 19-19 tie before the final bout. Heavyweight Spencer Empey lost to Brian Macchione in that bout, giving Northern Colorado (2-4) the victory.

David Gonzalez (125), and Mitch Woods (184) also earned wins for Cal Poly (1-6).

The Mustangs wrestle at Wyoming on Saturday night.
