Cal Poly wrestling team into consolation round at Las Vegas tournament

The Cal Poly wrestling team was eliminated from title contention at the Las Vegas Invitational, after J.T. Goodwin lost 10-2 in a major decision to Ruben Franklin of CSU Bakersfield on Friday.

The 197-pound Goodwin won two matches in the first day of the tournament to earn a first-round bye Friday. Goodwin, along with nine other Mustang wrestlers, competed in the wrestlebacks after the second round.

The tournament semifinals begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday and the championship and consolation finals are at 3 p.m.
