Cal Poly women’s basketball team edges USF
The Cal Poly women’s basketball team outlasted San Francisco, 62-61, on Friday night at War Memorial Gym, in a game that featured 13 lead changes and six ties.
Lisa Maria Sanchez nailed a 3-pointer with the Mustangs leading 58-57 and just 15.8 seconds on the clock for Cal Poly (2-1). Sanchez finished with 16 points and five rebounds.
Dynn Leaupepe and Beth Balbierz each scored 10 points for the Mustangs.
Taylor Proctor had 21 points and 13 rebounds for USF (2-1).
The Mustangs travel to No. 21 Cal for a game Sunday at 2 p.m.
