Cal Poly loses to Drexel in wrestling

The Cal Poly wrestling team lost to Drexel 28-12 in a nonconference dual meet Friday night at Mott Athletics Center.

J.T. Goodwin improved to 3-0, pinning Joshua Murphy in 1 minute, 32 seconds in their bout at 197 pounds.

Jason DelaCruz also earned a win for the Mustangs (1-2), getting a takedown 29 seconds into overtime in a victory at 133 pounds. Colt Shorts won an 8-4 decision at 157 pounds for Cal Poly’s only other victory.

Drexel (2-2) is coached by former Cal Poly assistant Matt Azevedo.
