Cal Poly wrestling team loses opener to Stanford

The Cal Poly wrestling team fell to Stanford 35-6 in its season opener Monday at Mott Athletics Center.

J.T. Goodwin got the Mustangs’ only win in the Pac-12 meet, pinning Michael Sojka at 197 pounds.

Stanford, ranked No. 13 in the nation by InterMat, registered one fall and five major decisions in the meet.

Cal Poly next competes Sunday at San Francisco State.
