CAL POLY ROUNDUP: Martin leads Cal Poly golfers to 11th place

Arroyo Grande High graduate Mitch Martin led the Cal Poly’s men’s golf team to an 11th-place finish, with a point total of 897 at the Saint Mary’s Invitational in Seaside on Tuesday.

Winning the individual title was San Diego’s Mathias Dahl, who shot a 65 in the second round and finished at 7 under.

San Diego won the team title with an 864 total, with Saint Mary’s second at 865 and San Francisco third at 871.

Mustangs goalkeeper honored nationally

Two days after holding the top-ranked team in the country to a scoreless draw, Cal Poly goalkeeper Wade Hamilton was named the Disney Soccer/NSCAA National Player of the Week — the first Mustang in program history to earn the honor.

The junior posted two shutouts this past week, earning a 2-0 win over Grand Canyon followed by the 0-0 tie at No. 1 UCLA.
