Davey Casciola, a San Luis Obispo High School graduate and the 2012 PAC 7 Player of the Year, was named to the D3Baseball.com Team of the Week after leading the Cal Lutheran University baseball team to its fourth-consecutive league title.

Casciola helped the Kingsmen secure an automatic berth to the NCAA Division III tournament with a 9-for-14 (.643), two-home-run, six-RBI performance during the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Tournament last week.

Last Monday, the senior third baseman helped CLU lock down the regular-season title against Redlands, going 3-for-4 from the plate. In the tournament title game against Occidental on Sunday, Casciola scored a run and had an RBI to help CLU to a 6-3 win.

For the season, Casciola is batting .396 with seven home runs and 42 RBI.

Casciola was part of the 2012 San Luis Obispo team that won the PAC 7 with a 17-1 record.

The NCAA Division III West Regional begins on May 18.
