Chris Downs, a 6-foot-7 sophomore lefty from Santa Clarita, pitched the final three innings in relief, allowing four earned runs.
The Mustangs finish their regular season on May 17 at home to wrap up a scheduled three-game series at Baggett Stadium versus UC Riverside, leading into the Big West Conference postseason tournament, set to take place May 17-25 in Fullerton at Goodwin Field.
On Saturday, Larry Lee’s son, Brooks Lee, went 1-for-4 with a double for the Minnesota Twins, playing third base, in a 4-3 win over the Red Sox at Fenway Park.
