Prep boys tennis: San Luis Obispo sweeps Santa Ynez in doubles, winning 12-6
The San Luis Obispo High boys tennis team beat Santa Ynez 12-6 at home Tuesday. The doubles team of Cole Westwood and Kannan Freyaldenhoven won 6-2, 6-1, 6-3, and the tandem of Alex Hasley and Kavi Freyaldenhoven swept 6-1, 6-2, 6-2.
The Tigers (1-1) play in the California Tennis Classic on Friday and Saturday in Fresno.
Santa Barbara 14, Arroyo Grande 4
Andrew Arcangel took a singles set 6-2, and Greg Hayden had a 6-0 win for the Eagles. The doubles team of Patrick Angle and Patrick Turner earned a 7-6 (7-5) victory, and the tandem of Austin Bricker and Joey Coleman won 6-4.
The Eagles will also play in the California Tennis Classic this weekend.
Paso Robles 11, Nipomo 7
Ernie Atilano swept 6-3, 6-2, 6-3, and Jon Johnson swept 6-1, 6-1, 6-1 for the Titans. Jordan Smith also took a set 6-2 for Nipomo, who takes on Cabrillo in a league contest Thursday.
Paso Robles swept doubles with No 1. Sebastian Galsim and Jason Belton (6-3, 7-6, 6-0), No. 2 Ryan Stronks and Evan Proulx (6-3, 6-4, 6-4) and No. 3 Dean Kim and C.J. Wilson (6-2, 6-4, 6-0)
Paso Robles is now 2-2 on the season and will play Coast Union on Thursday.
