Arroyo Grande water polo wins PAC 8 title over Righetti
The Arroyo Grande girls water polo team beat Righetti 10-2 in the championship game of the PAC 8 Tournament on Thursday. Sarah Parson had four goals and Kate Empey had two more for the Eagles, who had an undefeated league season.
Emily Sonny had 15 saves and a goal of her own for Arroyo Grande (20-5, 7-0 PAC 8). Brittany Winn, Amanda Bernard and Taylor York had a goal apiece.
The Eagles now have a streak of 14 straight league championships and 127 straight league wins under head coach Steven Allen.
San Luis Obispo 8, Paso Robles 2
San Luis Obispo beat Paso Robles 8-2 for third place at the PAC 8 Tournament. Addie Foster, Kata Ganes, Campbell Warren and Autumn Faccinto each had two goals for the Tigers.
The Tigers led 3-2 in the second quarter before scoring five unanswered in the third quarter to pull away. Rachel Lovato had seven saves in goal for San Luis Obispo (17-9, 6-3 PAC 8), who will find out on Saturday where and when they play in CIF.
LOS PADRES LEAGUE FINALS
The Morro Bay girls water polo team defeated Lompoc 8-3 in the third place game of the Los Padres League Tournament. The team beat Santa Maria 11-4 and before losing to Santa Ynez 14-5 on Tuesday. Morro Bay finished the regular season with a 12-8 record and will find out if they make the CIF playoffs on Saturday.
