Cuesta College women’s basketball team loses to Ventura at home
Playing with only six healthy players, the Cuesta College women’s basketball team lost 75-34 to Ventura in San Luis Obispo.
The Cougars trailed 30-23 at halftime, but managed just 11 points in the second half, including just four in the third quarter. Cuesta shot just 22.8 percent from the floor, and 4-for-21 on 3-pointers.
Templeton High grad Autumn Russell had 16 points and 12 rebounds to lead Cuesta (6-17, 1-6 Western State Conference).
Rhiana Dougan led Ventura (21-4, 7-0 WSC) with 16 points, and Brooke Zamora added 14.
Cuesta travels to L.A. Pierce on Wednesday.
