Moorpark hands Cuesta 49-33 defeat in women’s basketball
Autumn Russell scored nine points and grabbed a game-high 13 rebounds to lead the Cuesta College women’s basketball team during a 49-33 setback against visiting Moorpark on Wednesday night.
The former Templeton High standout went 2 of 9 from the field and made all five of her free throw attempts. Mission Prep graduate Connor Storlie added nine points, three rebounds and three assists. Angela Ramirez and Maci Branstetter also chipped in nine points apiece for the Cougars, who dropped to 6-16 overall and 1-5 against Western State Conference opponents.
Dagmer Ramirez scored 17 of her game-high 21 points in the second half to lead Moorpark (10-10, 3-3 WSC).
Cuesta will be back in action when it hosts Ventura at 5 p.m. Saturday.
