Prep girls soccer roundup: Nipomo opens league play with loss

The Nipomo girls soccer team opened up Los Padres League play with a 2-0 loss to Cabrillo.

Cabrillo (2-4-1, 1-0 LPL) scored a goal in each half against Nipomo (2-3, 0-1) in the win.

Nipomo travels to play Santa Ynez on Thursday.

Morro Bay 2, Santa Maria 1

The Morro Bay girls soccer team defeated Santa Maria 2-1 in an away match to open up Los Padres League play Tuesday.

Emma Hotaling scored both goals for the Pirates, and Grace Hotaling added an assist on the second.

Morro Bay (2-3, 1-0 LPL) plays Cabrillo at home Thursday.
