San Luis Obispo High’s Callum Bolger won his heat at the CIF-Southern Section Division Prelims on Saturday in Riverside.
Bolger finished the 3-mile course in 14 minutes, 53.2 seconds in the second heat of Division 3. He earned an automatic bid into the Division 3 finals next week in at Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut. Bolger’s teammate Kobi Kelly also qualified as an individual.
In the first heat, Luis Armendariz of Paso Robles finished second in 15:11.9, leading the Bearcats boys team into the finals next week. Paso Robles finished second in its heat, with Gannon Chamberlain finishing fifth in 15:18.0.
Also in Division 3, the Paso Robles girls finished fifth and the San Luis Obispo girls finished sixth. Both teams qualified for the division finals next week.

The Arroyo Grande boys team qualified for CIF finals for the fifth year in a row in Division 2, finishing seventh in their heat. Christian Ricketts was ninth in 15:09.
In Division 4, the Atascadero girls team and Nipomo boys team each qualified for next week’s final. In the boys races, Morro Bay’s Andrew Stafford and Templeton’s Noah Crabtree and Brennan Tobin qualified as individuals. In the girls races, Nipomo’s MacKenzie Wisneski and Flor Hernandez also qualified for the division finals.
