Baker Mayfield Dealt With Several Painful Injuries Through 2025 Season

Baker Mayfield has earned the reputation of one of the toughest quarterbacks in the NFL.

But through the 2025 season, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers signal caller was clearly affected as he dealt with a variety of injury issues.

On Monday, Netflix released a sneak preview for Season 3 of the popular show “Quarterback” - following Mayfield, Jayden Daniels, Cam Ward and Joe Flacco through their respective 2025 NFL seasons.

Mayfield suffered a sprained MCL and PCL in Week 2 of the 2025 season, injuries that he played through for most of the year. He also battled through a bone bruise in his knee, a bicep tendon injury and an AC joint sprain.

"Pain is miserable, but toughness shows how bad you want something,” Mayfield said of his injuries.

Mayfield played in all 17 games for the Buccaneers for the third straight season. The 31-year-old quarterback completed 63.2% of his pass attempts for 3,693 yards, 26 touchdowns and 11 interceptions as Tampa Bay went 8-9. The prior season, he threw for 4,500 yards and 41 touchdowns.

Mayfield will look to stay healthy and return to his previous form in the upcoming NFL season. The Buccaneers will begin their 2026 regular-season campaign with a Week 1 matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sept. 13.
