Forza Horizon 6 Patch Notes: New Update Targets Gameplay and a Huge Leaderboard Change
Forza Horizon 6 players have another substantial update waiting for them. Playground Games has released a new patch focused on improving gameplay, fixing long-standing bugs, and addressing several community-reported exploits that have affected competitive play since launch.
While the update includes dozens of fixes across AI, audio, visuals, EventLab, and gameplay, the biggest headline is a complete Rivals leaderboard wipe. The developers say the decision was made after discovering unrealistic lap times created through exploits and physics issues, giving everyone a fresh opportunity to compete on equal footing.
Here's a look at the biggest changes in today's update.
Rivals Leaderboards Get a Fresh Start
The most significant change affects Rivals.
Playground Games has wiped all Rivals leaderboards after identifying illegitimate lap times that were achieved through glitches and the use of drag tires before the June 15 physics balance update.
The studio confirmed that:
- All Rivals leaderboards have been reset.
- Collection Journal Rivals rewards will remain unlocked for players who previously earned them legitimately.
- PR Stunt leaderboards could receive a similar wipe in a future update once additional exploits are fixed.
Gameplay Improvements and Bug Fixes
Several gameplay issues have also been addressed to improve the overall experience.
Highlights include:
- Fixed a PR Stunt exploit that allowed unrealistic scores using locked tunes.
- Monthly Rivals no longer displays a black screen when launched through Test Drive.
- LINK Clean Sweep Skill now registers correctly in the Collection Journal.
- Convoy event notifications now disappear correctly after events.
- Head-to-Head request settings no longer affect The Eliminator.
- Hide & Seek now properly awards Level XP.
- The 1993 Toyota #1 T100 Baja Truck replaces the 2021 Alumicraft #122 Class 1 Buggy in The Eliminator.
AI and Car Fixes
The latest patch also improves racing behavior while fixing several vehicle-specific issues.
Changes include:
- Reduced excessive AI collisions when entering corners.
- Fixed an issue where the 1995 Toyota MR2 GT could unexpectedly stop after hitting certain curbs.
- Treasure Cars can no longer disappear from player garages.
- Auction House credit cap now works correctly for non-Autoshow cars.
- Adjusted the value of the 1998 Subaru Impreza 22B-STi Version to better reflect its in-game market value.
Audio, Visual, and EventLab Improvements
Playground Games also delivered a collection of quality-of-life improvements throughout the game.
Audio
- Improved overall audio performance.
- Speech Volume no longer changes GPS voice volume.
- Better radio music rotation.
- New stock exhaust sound for the 2016 Alfa Romeo Giulia.
- New race exhaust sound for the 2022 Ferrari 296 GTB.
Visuals
- Exhaust vapor now appears from the correct exhaust location.
- Chrome paint renders correctly on plastic components.
- Manufacturer preset colors display properly with liveries.
- Reduced clipping with certain avatar clothing combinations.
EventLab
- Rewind has been restored in Free Drive.
- Fixed an exploit that allowed players to duplicate other creators' EventLab content.
Save Issue Investigation Continues
Playground Games also provided an update on the ongoing save data issue affecting some players.
The studio says it continues to work with the Xbox team to improve save reliability across Xbox Series X|S and PC. Players who encounter save conflicts after updating will now receive a prompt allowing them to restore their most recent cloud save, helping prevent permanent progress loss.
With widespread gameplay fixes, AI improvements, exploit patches, and a Rivals leaderboard wipe, this update represents another significant step toward a more polished and competitive Forza Horizon 6 experience.
