The 2026 All-Star nod was already special for Los Angeles Angels' superstar Mike Trout, with the game taking place in his hometown. However, the honor he received from manager John Schneider makes it even more meaningful.

Trout was named as an American League starting outfielder to the 2026 All-Star game, as voted in by fans. Making his first appearance at the event since 2023.

The 34-year-old grew up just outside of Philadelphia in South New Jersey, and he has not been subtle about his care for the city and it's sports teams.

With the All-Star Game lineups announced on Monday afternoon, it was revealed that hometown hero Mike Trout would leadoff the game for the American League.

The 12-time All-Star will most definitely receive a thunderous applause from a city that has loved him for years, despite never playing for them.

He will be followed by the lineup of: DH Yordan Álvarez, C Shea Langeliers, 3B Junior Caminero, SS Bobby Witt Jr., RF Cody Bellinger, 1B Ben Rice, LF Riley Greene and 2B Ernie Clement.
