Jalen Hurts, Eagles Get New Offensive Lineman Before NFL Season
Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles will not reconvene until training camp in late July after ending mandatory minicamp on Wednesday. The mandatory veteran minicamp took place at the Jefferson Health Training Complex, with players' sights set on their eventual Week 1 matchup against the Washington Commanders.
A.J. Brown was still an Eagle when he married Kelsey Nicole Riley on May 16 at the Montage Laguna Beach, a property owned by current United States Ambassador to Italy and Houston Rockets owner Tilman Fertitta. Brown experienced major changes this summer, not only with his summer marriage, but also when the three-time All-Pro was traded to the New England Patriots on June 1.
The seven-year veteran, responsible for the No. 1 and No. 2 rankings for receiving yards in a single season in Philadelphia franchise history (1,496 in 2022, 1,456 in 2023), was traded for a first-round pick in the 2028 NFL Draft, along with a 2027 fifth-round pick. On Wednesday, the Eagles announced yet another roster move ahead of the 2026 NFL regular season.
Philadelphia went to social media to announce it had waived linebackers Chandler Martin and Isiah King while signing defensive end A.J. Epenesa and guard Michael Jordan. Not related to the shooting guard responsible for winning six NBA championships, Jordan was originally drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals with the No. 136 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.
The eight-year veteran spent two seasons in Cincinnati before being claimed off waivers by the Carolina Panthers. After two years in Carolina, the 6-foot-6 offensive lineman took a sabbatical during the 2023 season before returning with the New England Patriots in 2024. The Plymouth High School graduate appeared in 11 games for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2025, starting nine of them.
"We have signed DE A.J. Epenesa and G Michael Jordan," the Eagles wrote on X. "And waived LB Chandler Martin and LB Isiah King."
