President Donald Trump Releases Statement Following Death of Kyle Busch
A day after Kyle Busch died, President Donald Trump has released a statement honoring and remembering the late driver. The POTUS joins the broader sports world in taking time to think of Busch and his family during this tragic time.
Donald Trump has attended multiple NASCAR races in the past. During the 2024 campaign, now Vice President JD Vance posed with a photo with Busch and his family ahead of the Roval race at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
On Truth Social, and later shared around social media, President Trump made this statement on Kyle Busch and his death:
"The LEGENDARY NASCAR Driver Kyle Busch tragically and unexpectedly passed away yesterday. He was a true talent who loved NASCAR and its fans. Kyle was a WINNER! He was a two time Cup Champion, and holds the All Time Record for WINS in NASCAR's Top Three series, and even won another just last weekend. Kyle's wife, Samantha, and their two beautiful children are in our thoughts and prayers. Samantha was on the White House in October, for IVF. She truly loved Kyle! Rest in Peace Kyle Busch. You will always be a LEGEND! President DONALD J. TRUMP."
Kyle Busch was hospitalized on Thursday, May 21. He later died on the same day. In response, the NASCAR and sports world has taken time to remember and honor Busch and his family. It is an incredibly difficult time in the sport, which is still trying to grieve and mourn over the loss of Greg Biffle from last December.
When the President of the United States takes time to weigh in, it shows what a figure that Busch was. Rowdy Nation will keep his memory alive for years to come.
