California’s secretary of state was inundated this month with candidates filing for Fair Political Practices Commission numbers. This is a good thing for all of us.
Lots of new people are filing to run for office — people who’ve never run before.
Let’s encourage them. If people are tired of politics as usual and are willing to walk the walk, cheer for them. Support them, whether it’s with time, money, energy, endorsement or just a phone call or email telling them you’re proud that they are stepping up.
Let’s make politics fun instead of dreadful.
