As a co-founder of Ecologistics, I would like to thank Rep. Lois Capps for her July 21 letter in The Tribune (“Legislators must continue to protect California’s natural landscape”).

Ecologistics’ mission is to create a resilient and healthy community for the residents of the California Central Coast that is environmentally and economically sustainable.

Both the California Coastal Monument and the Central Coast Heritage Protection Act fall in line with our mission, as they help to ensure clean air and water — and plentiful open space — enhance property values, attract tourists and promote a healthy economy.

Thank you, Rep. Capps and Sen. Barbara Boxer for your advocacy on behalf of our natural areas.

Please prioritize protection of the Central Coast and urge Sen. Dianne Feinstein to co-sponsor the Central Coast Heritage Act.

Safeguarding these special places is vital to our region’s economic future and quality of life.

Stacey Hunt, CEO of Ecologistics, San Luis Obispo
