Kudos to the Mid-State Fair organizers for another great opening day! There was so much to do and see, including the Bruce in the USA concert on the Ford Frontier Stage. However, we again felt a twinge of pity for the hardworking musicians who were being hammered by sizzling temperatures on a sun-baked stage.

If San Luis Obispo can erect a big top to shelter its performers, then surely we can provide a canopy to protect ours. They pour out their hearts to entertain us; let’s make sure a heart attack isn’t part of the performance.
